“My mother found herself in a nursing home through an unfortunate chain of events. The situation was unbearable for her family and quite uncomfortable and depressing for her. Having visited Arbour Square many times to visit a friend, I became aware of The Birches Residential Care Community. It was decided that this would be an ideal situation for my mother’s care. Within a matter of a few weeks after moving in – my mother has gained significant strength and confidence! Mom was oxygen dependent upon arrival – but working with the care staff and her new physicians – her breathing conditions are now under control. The meal service program has enabled
Mom to gain back her strength – compared to her previous several years, she is a new woman. I would encourage all who have a loved one who is in need of a quality assisted living situation to visit the Birches. I think you too will be impressed at the quality of the residence and care provided.”

“My mother was a resident at Independent Living at Arbour Square. As her memory deteriorated, the decision was made to move to The Birches at Arbour Square. I had reservations about moving my mother to a secured memory care
unit, and the staff at Arbour Square did everything to alleviate my concerns, and make her transition as easy as possible - both for her and me!
Since her move in May 2009, she has once again become engaged in life - participating and enjoying in all the activities and events the Birches have to offer. She tells me how much she enjoys the food and she’s gained a few pounds over the past few months (this is a good thing for her, as she had not been eating properly before her move to the Birches). I visit my mother very frequently, and I can see she is a now a different woman. The structured environment of the memory care unit has done wonders for my mother’s attitude and outlook. I now see my mother physically healthier and happier than I’ve seen her in years. As well, I’ve been relieved from a great deal of stress, as I no longer worry about her every day. I’m thankful to have found a facility that gives my mother the care she needs in an environment she enjoys!”
